Mini Inspired by Goodwood

I think I have been waiting for this for very long time. Since 2002, when the Mini was turned to bigger size, I never liked any Mini models. Even though BMW made a great job in terms of design and technology but I could not find a solid reason to like it.

First of all, it is a snob car! Many people bought without knowing anything about the Mini, they only wanted to buy because it was popular. Secondly, you can see it everywhere on earth! I am sure that BMW loved this fact but seeing a car everywhere with the same type of people is not my thing. Thirdly, first two reasons made the Mini my least favourite car before Mercedes SLS AMG.

Hopefully, BMW did something to change my mood towards the Mini. Mini Inspried by Goodwood, this special edition is designed by people in Goodwood where the Rolls Royce is manufactured. As a result of this special moment, Inspired by Goodwood has the best Mini interior ever made in whole human history. Actually, it has one of the best interiors in current automotive market. The harmony of leather, metal, wood and carpet made so well; and this remind me one thing Rolls Royce. Also I forgot all the annoying things about the Mini.

Actually, this Mini is a budget interpretation of Rolls Royce! May be in future like Aston Martin, Rolls Royce may offer a Rolls Royce Mini :) Mini already has Rolls Royce style rear door!

Unfortunately, I do no have any other chance than publishing this post.

However, some people think that, copying the whole content of a blog is something very easy and nobody will ever notice! Unfortunately, I noticed it!

There are two blogs constantly copying my content and publishing on their blogs. However, thanks to Google's state of art indexing engine, they don't appear on Google search results. I am not going to publish their links to increase their traffic. 

I do hope that, their automatic copy paste application is going to publish this post also.

Car of the Day # 19 Mercedes SL65 AMG

This is a bit old photo, from 2007. It was one of the very rare SL65 AMGs sold in Istanbul, Turkey. As far as I remember, it was priced around € 500,000 or something due to high taxation. As you can see from the grill, it has distronic (radar guided cruise control), which also costs lots of money!

Audi RS3: Narrow Tyres Syndrome

Most of you should have heard about the new Audi RS3. It is the fastest A3 model currently on planet and it is revealed just before the end of A3's product life cycle. This last point vehicle offers an unbelievable performance. While its speeding up, the speedometer causes a small typhoon.

It is fast, it is small, it is four-wheel drive and it is Audi. Quattro (Audi's four-wheel drive system) and Audi reminds me one thing! Understeer! Unfortunately, most of the Quattro vehicles love to under steer thanks to huge weight in the front. Under steer means, steering wheel does not drive you to the direction, which you intend to drive. And this is emphasised by many journalist. Even though, this does not prevent RS3 to be a great car.

Recently, I noticed something interesting on Audi's website. RS3 has wider tyres at the front and narrower tyres at the rear. I thought it was a mistake by mistyping and did some Google search and I realised that, Audi did this on purpose. In terms of visual appearance, it would definitely look odd. We get use see wide tyres at the rear and narrow tyres at the front. This has been associated in our brain for many years. In other words, this is similar to a Christian Louboutin rain boot! Extremely unusual!

However, I am pretty sure that Audi engineers have a solid reason for this unusual visual appearance. With the current variables (Audi, Quattro and under steer) I can assume one thing, Audi desires to reduce under steer by narrowing the rear tyres. Okay, this might sound a bit stupid. Nevertheless, narrow tyres means less grip and the rear of the RS3 will tend to slip more and reduce the under steer feeling. Still, this is an assumption I did not drives RS yet! And probably, the most senseless one and I don’t think nobody ever think like this :)

I am pretty sure that, some of the owners will accidentally misplace the front and rear tyres when they have a new set of tyres. Because, it is unusual to have narrow tyres at the rear. Anyway, RS3 will be remembered as a car that has the most unusual tyres size strategy on automotive industry including to its performance.

Tyres: 235/35 Front, 225/35 Rear. Both of them are 19".

Porsche Design Hard Drive

After buying your kitchen, pen, shoes, t-shirt, coat, perfume, knife, coffee machine, toaster and missing a Porsche Design external hard drive. Here it is!

I found the coolest and best-looking external hard drive ever made. It is from Porsche Design. Sounds a bit unusual but Porsche Design also offer external hard drives.

This external hard drive offers 500 GB disk space and that's all for technical information. It is designed by Porsche Design and it looks amazing! I really don't care about its USB connectivity or transfer rate or anything else. It is a must have product from Porsche Design. Because, it is one of their best design. Even if you don't need any external hard drive, the design would definitely provokes you to buy one!

Honestly, I don't think that it will be a different experience for an external hard drive but if you will buy one, just consider the Porsche ;)

By the way, it is manufactured by Lacie. I really don't know anything about this firm but as they are sold in respectful technology stores, you may trust them.

This one is 2,5 inch but you can have bigger space and bigger size!

Audi A8 W12 vs. BMW 760i vs. Mercedes S600

All of the vehicles have one thing in common, twelve cylinders. Actually they have more things in common, but I wanted to highlight the most exciting factor. Unfortunately, I did not have chance to drive these cars. It would have been great if drove them. 

But one thing caught my attention. Audi A8 W12 is the newest and least powerful one. Mercedes S Class is oldest, BMW 7 Series older and Audi A8 is the youngest. From this basic ranking, you expect to hear that A8 is the most powerful one, because it is the newest one. This is something, which is expected by everyone. But Audi did not fulfil our expectation and only offered 500 horsepower for the A8 W12 model. For many people it is too much but in terms of marketing, this cars has to have more! I know horsepower race is nearly over but still, it is a good way to increase your sales! But Audi plays for lower CO2 level ;)

Audi A8 W12 offers 500 horsepower, 12,4 lt average consumption and 290gr CO2 level.

BMW 760i offers 544 horsepower, 13 lt average consumption and 303gr CO2 level.

Mercedes S600 offers 517 horsepower, 14,1 lt average consumption and 329gr CO2 level.

What does this mean? Audi A8 W12 is the most environment twelve cylinder vehicle on market.

This basic table shows that newest technology is the cleanest, the most economic and least powerful. Welcome to new world! But I still not confident about the consumers of twelve cylinder cars. Do they really think about consumption while buying a car with twelve cylinders!

Smart Fascinated by Maybach

You might have heard that Maybach brand will not be produced in future but Mercedes will offer Maybach brand as an optional upgrade on their vehicle range, which is planned to be similar to AMG. You will buy an S Class and you will have the AMG or Maybach options. Maybach option will boost the luxury and probably offer additional customisation. As I mentioned in my previous posts, it sounds a really good business model and many customer would be happy to have Maybach luxury without paying Maybach price!

On the other hand, there is one more option available for Mercedes. That is the Smart Maybach. Now, Aston Martin has Cygnet, Rolls Royce has Mini by Goodwood and Mercedes left alone. Actually, Mercedes loves to introduce competitor vehicles at any condition. After this small luxury revolution, I want to see a Maybach based Smart car. It would be a great alternative on market and can increase the sales of the Smart. Many people would buy it because it has a Maybach logo and über luxury. If anyone in Mercedes HQ at Stuttgart is reading this, please consider Smart Maybach vehicle! And can be named as Smart Fascinated by Maybach.

This new market is going to make lots of money is next decade. Small and luxury! Many people want to experience, even when they drive a small car.
